SDOR workshops are led by peer recovery support specialists that are skilled in the daily topic. Sessions are 60-minutes in length and feature a combination of lecture learning, skill building activities, and group discussion.
Workshops are hosted at different times and days. The employment skills workshops are held Monday, Thursday, and Saturday at 2PM EST. The family wellness and recovery workshop is held Wednesday at 6PM EST, and the Recovery Skills workshop is held Tuesday at 4PM EST.
Social Determinants of Recovery, or SDOR, is very similar to the concept of social determinants of health. In a nutshell, this means that many of the social aspects of our lives (education, employment, housing, financial literacy, etc.) can impact our recovery. By working on and improving SDOR, you may improve your chance of self-determined success in the recovery process.
If anyone you know, or you yourself, needs extra support, please feel to message the workshop facilitator on the platform, or send an email to contact@unityrecovery.org and we’ll get you connected to a peer support specialist ASAP.
To respect privacy, we do not allow workshops to be recorded by any attendee or facilitator. It is possible that screenshots of a screen may be taken however, just as if an attendee took a picture at an in-person workshop. We do encourage all attendees to not take screenshots to be respectful.
