Most SDOR workshops are led by peer recovery support specialists that are skilled in the daily topic. Sessions are 60-90 minutes in length and feature a combination of lecture learning, skill building activities, and group discussion. We also host special partner workshops from time to time that may have special locations and time. Be sure to ask your peer specialist for more details.
Digital SDOR workshops are offered monthly via Zoom on the 3rd Saturday of the month at 10AM EST. Additionally, if you prefer to attend in person, each of our Unity RCC locations offers workshops at different times and days (check your local center schedule for most up to date schedule).
Social Determinants of Recovery and Re-entry, or SDOR, is very similar to the concept of social determinants of health. In a nutshell, this means that many of the social aspects of our lives (education, employment, housing, financial literacy, etc.) can impact our recovery and/or re-entry. By working on and improving SDOR, you may improve your chance of self-determined success in your journey.
If anyone you know, or you yourself, needs extra support, please feel to message the workshop facilitator on the platform, or send an email to contact@unityrecovery.org and we’ll get you connected to a peer support specialist ASAP.
