Adam is a person in recovery from a substance use disorder. His recovery began in 2011 at the age of 42, and after building a strong foundation in traditional recovery programs, Adam discovered the world of public recovery advocacy, shed his anonymity and began to study the body of knowledge around recovery. Adam went on to earn his Master’s degree in Social Work from West Chester University in 2018. During this time, he took a job with a recovery community organization and became a peer support specialist supervisor. Adam is committed to expanding access to recovery and dismantling privilege in the recovery community.
